ART 13280 Visual Art Concepts
This course is an exploration of visual art history, theory, and criticism. Students examine art history through a global, contemporary lens. Students practice art theory by analyzing visual art in terms of form, content, and contextual evidence. Students practice art criticism by studying the works of internationally recognized visual art critics and artists. The course emphasizes applying global themes from art history, art theory, and art criticism to written, verbal, and visual forms of communication. Prerequisite: ART 13109 with a grade of C or higher.
